The Sta-Rite 27001-0061S is the tank o-ring for filters built from February 1997 to the present. It measures 15-1/4 in. inside diameter with a 3/8 in. cross section, and it is the genuine Sta-Rite part.

Before you order

Sta-Rite changed this ring in 2/97, so an older tank needs the earlier version instead. If you are not sure how old the filter is, measure the old ring. This one is 15-1/4 in. across the inside with a 3/8 in. cross section, and a ring that has taken a set will read slightly flatter than that.

Fitting it

Clean the groove and the sealing faces before the new ring goes in, and tighten the band clamp evenly around the tank. A ring that is pinched or sitting on grit will keep weeping no matter how tight the clamp goes.

How do I know if I need the after 2/97 ring or the earlier one?

Go by the age of the filter. Tanks built from February 1997 onward take this 27001-0061S. Older tanks use the before 2/97 ring, which is a separate part. Measuring the old ring is the surest check: this one is 15-1/4 in. inside diameter with a 3/8 in. cross section.
