Product details

The Sta-Rite 27001-0130S is the spring check valve for the PLM and PLD series filters. It is the genuine Sta-Rite part.

What it does

A check valve passes water one way and blocks it the other. The spring in this one holds it closed against reverse flow rather than leaving that to gravity, which is why it keeps working in the orientations a filter body puts it in.

The symptom

When a check valve stops seating, water runs back through the circuit as soon as the pump shuts down. If the filter drains itself between cycles, or the system takes longer to prime than it used to, the check valve is worth pulling before anything larger is suspected.
