The Hayward WG1049AVPAK2 is a suction outlet and main drain with an anti vortex grate, sized 2 inch by 1-1/2 inch and supplied as a two pack.

What it is

The main drain sits at the deepest point of the pool and feeds the suction side of the circulation system. The body accepts either 2 inch or 1-1/2 inch pipe, which means one part number covers both of the common plumbing sizes. The anti vortex grate comes with the assembly.

Why a two pack

Most pools are plumbed with a pair of main drains sharing a single suction line. Buying the pair means both ends of that line get the same part at the same time, which is how the work is normally done rather than replacing one and leaving the other.
