The Raypak 106A is the smallest heater in the above ground range, rated at 105K BTU and set up for natural gas. This version is the analog control model with electronic ignition, part number 014780.
Built for altitude
Gas appliances are configured for the air they burn in, and a heater set for sea level does not run correctly thousands of feet higher. This one is the 5000 to 9999 ft build, so it is the right choice for mountain and high desert installations. Ordering the wrong altitude version is one of the more common mistakes on a gas heater purchase.
Analog and electronic ignition
Control is analog rather than digital, which keeps the interface simple and the parts count down. Ignition is electronic, so there is no standing pilot burning gas between heating cycles.
Fitting
Gas supply, venting and electrical work on a pool heater should follow the manufacturer instructions and local code. Have the install handled by a qualified gas technician.
