This is the replacement basket for the Paramount EDC and DDC debris canisters, listed by Hayward as part 005-152-2207-00. It measures 6-7/8 inches in diameter and 13-3/4 inches long.

What the canister does

A debris canister sits ahead of the pump on an in floor cleaning system and catches leaves and larger debris before they reach the pump basket and the filter. The basket inside is the part doing that work, and it is the part that eventually splits, distorts or wears through.

Basket instead of bag

This part is listed as the replacement for the canister bag. A rigid basket empties cleanly and holds its shape against flow, which is what keeps debris from packing into a mat and slowing the system down.

Fitting it
