Product details

The Hayward RCX31018 is the outlet connector fitted to the power supply for the SharkVac, SharkVac XL and TigerShark robotic pool cleaners. It is the genuine Hayward OEM part.

Where it sits

The power supply is the box at poolside that feeds the cleaner. The outlet connector is the point where the floating cable from the cleaner plugs into that box. It carries every amp the cleaner draws, and it lives outdoors, so it is one of the parts that eventually burns or corrodes.

Symptoms

A failing outlet connector shows up as a cleaner that starts only when the plug is moved, cuts out partway through a cycle, or does not start while the power supply still has power at the wall. Melted plastic or green corrosion in the outlet confirms it.

Why replace the connector

Changing the connector is far cheaper than replacing the power supply, and it puts the unit back to full output rather than leaving an intermittent fault to spread.
