The Hayward W560 is the standard leaf canister, used most often on the Hayward Navigator suction side pool cleaners. It is the genuine Hayward part.
Where it goes
The canister sits inline in the cleaner hose and works with any 1.5 inch pool cleaner hose. Water and debris pass through it on the way back to the skimmer, and the basket inside holds on to anything large enough to cause trouble further along.
Why it matters
A suction side cleaner is easy to clog. Leaves, twigs and acorns that make it into the hose end up wedged somewhere they are hard to reach, and the cleaner slows or stops. Catching that material in a canister you can lift and empty keeps the cleaner running and keeps the pump strainer from filling up between services.
