These are the metallic blue Super Hump wheel treads for the Hayward AquaNaut 400 automatic suction cleaners, part PVXS16PK2-234, supplied as a 2 pack.

What the tread does

The humped tread is what puts grip between the cleaner and the pool surface. It is what lets an AquaNaut hold a wall on the climb instead of sliding back down to the floor. The tread is molded separately from the wheel because it is the piece that wears, so replacing it is a cheap job compared with changing wheels.

When to change them

If the cleaner starts a climb and slides back, or wanders and stalls on the floor, look at the treads before you suspect the turbine. Once the humps are rounded off and the surface is smooth, grip is gone. Because they wear as a set, change them in pairs, which is why they come two to a pack.

Why is my cleaner not climbing the walls?
Worn treads are the first thing to check. Once the hump pattern is rounded off, the cleaner loses the grip it needs to hold a wall and slides back to the floor.

No. The tread is the wear item and is sold on its own, so the wheel itself stays on the cleaner.
