Product details

The Hayward AXV014SP is the slotted Santoprene pod shoe, sold four to a pack. It is the genuine Hayward part for the Navigator, Pool Vac Plus and Pool Vac Ultra, AquaBug, Diver Dave, Wanda the Whale and Aquadroid Elite suction cleaners.

What the shoes do

These cleaners walk, they do not roll. The pod is carried on four small shoes that touch the pool floor and walls, and the whole tracking pattern depends on those shoes gripping consistently. As they wear down the cleaner starts slipping on slopes, hesitating in corners and covering less of the pool on each pass.

Slotted or ceramic

Hayward makes the pod shoe in two forms. This listing is the slotted Santoprene shoe. The ceramic shoe is a separate part number, so check which one is on the cleaner before you order.

Fitting

Replace all four at the same time. One new shoe against three worn ones leaves the pod sitting unevenly and the cleaner still tracking badly.
