The Hayward RCX26001 is the roller bearing guide for the AquaVac TigerShark, TigerShark QC and TigerShark Plus robotic pool cleaners. It is the genuine Hayward replacement part.
What it does
The guide holds the roller in position so the brush and track run straight while the cleaner works its pattern. It spends every hour of its life in water carrying sand and grit, which is exactly the environment that wears a bearing surface out.
When to change it
Rocking or side to side play at the roller, a roller that binds instead of spinning freely, or a grinding sound while the cleaner drives all point at the guide. Left alone, the extra drag falls on the drive components, so it is a cheap part to stay ahead of.
The cleaner has to be opened to reach it, so check the matching side and the roller brush at the same time and do the whole job once.
