Quick overview
- Genuine Hayward New original part RCX97502GR, not an aftermarket bearing.
- SharkVAC XL The drive bearing assembly used in the SharkVAC XL robotic cleaner.
- Complete assembly Supplied assembled, so the bearing goes in as one piece.
- Carries the drive The drive bearing takes the load of the drive train, which is why it wears before most of the plastics around it.
- Symptoms of wear A dragging or noisy drive, a wheel that will not turn freely or a cleaner that pulls to one side point at the bearing.
- Worth doing in pairs If one side has worn, the other has done the same hours, so inspect both while the cleaner is open.

Product details
The Hayward RCX97502GR is the drive bearing assembly for the SharkVAC XL robotic pool cleaner. It is a new original Hayward part, supplied as a complete assembly.
What it does
The drive bearing carries the load of the cleaner drive train. It turns for every hour the cleaner runs, in water carrying sand and grit, which is why it is one of the first wear items in a robot that has otherwise been looked after.
When to change it
A worn bearing announces itself. The drive sounds gritty or labored, the wheel no longer spins freely when you turn it by hand, or the cleaner starts pulling to one side and covering the same strip of floor instead of working the whole pool. Because both sides accumulate the same running hours, it is worth inspecting the opposite bearing while the cleaner is already open.
