Product details

AXV434WHP is the Hayward flap kit in white. It contains two flaps together with the front and rear springs, and it serves the Navigator, Pool Vac and Aquadroid family of suction cleaners.

Why flaps matter more than they look

A suction cleaner has no motor of its own. It works by sealing against the floor or wall and letting the pump pull water through it, and the flaps are what make that seal. As they harden and curl the seal leaks, the cleaner loses grip, and the first thing owners notice is that it wanders slowly, gives up halfway up a wall, or takes far longer to cover the pool than it used to.

Check the flaps first

Before you start suspecting the pump or the hose, flip the cleaner over and look. Flaps that are torn, stiff, curled at the edges or no longer sit flat are the cheapest thing on the cleaner to put right, and replacing them often brings back the performance people assume is gone for good.
