The Hayward OmniLogic Waterproof Wireless Remote, HLWIRELESS is a rechargeable, waterproof, floating touchscreen remote for Hayward Omni pool and spa automation. It lets you change settings from the deck, the spa side or the water instead of at the equipment pad.

How it connects

The remote does not talk to the OmniLogic directly. It is 802.11 b/g/n and communicates through your home 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi router, with a line of sight range of 300 feet to the router or access point. It must be on the same network name (SSID) as the OmniLogic. Battery life is up to two days, and Hayward says the battery cannot be replaced by the user.

Compatibility

Hayward lists the HLWIRELESS for OmniLogic, OmniLogic+, OmniPL and OmniHub systems. With an OmniPL, a router is needed to connect both the OmniPL and the remote. Hayward's guide calls for minimum firmware 2.0.0 on the wired wall mount and the Main System Processor, and 1.0.5 on the Main Panel Processor, and says to upgrade the wall mount first. It is a separate item from the OmniPL retrofit kit, which converts an older Pro Logic system; this listing is the remote only.

Care

Never put the remote in its charger while it is wet. Hayward warns that this can lead to accelerated product failure or corrosion. The HLX-CRADLE charging base appears in Hayward's product questions and answers as its own item, so confirm what you need for charging.
