Jandy Check Valve Kit for 1.5 in. to 2.5 in. Check Valve Body

The Jandy 7056 is the replacement flapper assembly kit for Jandy's heavy duty black check valves. It fits the 7235, 7305, 7511 and 7512 valve bodies, which cover 1.5 in. to 2.5 in. plumbing and share the lid held down by eight screws. The kit contains the flapper assembly, the pin and the spring.

Why rebuild

A check valve fails at the flapper long before the body wears out. The seal face gets nicked, the spring loses tension, or the pin wears and the flapper hangs. Any of those lets water drain back through the valve when the pump stops, which is how a spa loses its level or a pump loses prime overnight. Swapping the internals fixes that without cutting the valve out of the line.

Fitting it

Shut the pump off, relieve pressure, remove the eight lid screws and lift the lid. Pull the old flapper, pin and spring, drop the new assembly in, seat the spring, and refit the lid. Inspect the lid o-ring while you are in there; it is a separate part and worth replacing if it has flattened.
