Product details

The Hayward PSV Check Valve Cover and Flapper Replacement Kit, PSXCVBAH replaces the cover and flapper assembly inside a Hayward PSV series check valve. It is a Brand OEM Hayward part, and the valve body can stay glued in the plumbing line.

Which valves

Hayward's PSCV Series owner's manual covers the PSV check valves PSCV2S (CPVC, for 1-1/2 in or 2 in pipe), PSCV2S2 (CPVC, for 2 in or 2-1/2 in pipe), PSCV2SDGR (PVC, 1-1/2 in or 2 in pipe) and PSCV2S2DGR (PVC, 2 in or 2-1/2 in pipe), and lists the cover and flapper kit as PSXCVBA. Hayward's own page lists it as PSXCVBAH. Gray valves are PVC and black valves are CPVC. The maximum working pressure of all of these valves is 50 PSI at 104 degrees F.

Installing it

Remove the 8 cover screws, lift out the cover and flapper assembly and set it aside. Fit the new assembly with the tab on the cover lined up with the slot in the body, and the flow arrow on the cover matching the intended flow direction. The screw set (PSXVZ1A, 8 pieces) and the cover o-ring (PSXVZ2A) are listed by Hayward as separate parts, so check them while the cover is off.

When to order it

Order it when water runs backward through the valve after the pump stops, or the flapper no longer seats cleanly.

Which valve does this kit fit?
