The Jandy R0442200 is the shaft replacement kit for the push pull slide valves SVLV8, SVLV2 and BWVL-SLD. It is the genuine Jandy part.

What the kit covers

This is a full shaft assembly rather than a single o-ring: shaft, handle, handle pin, shaft pin, index plate lid, lid union nut, lid o-ring, shaft top o-ring and the purple shaft bottom o-ring. Between them they cover the parts that actually fail on a push pull valve.

When you need it

The two common complaints are a valve that weeps around the shaft, and a handle that has gone stiff or has broken its pin. Both come back to the shaft and its o-rings. Renewing the shaft and all three seals in one go is more reliable than chasing a single ring.

Fitting

The kit works from the top of the valve. The valve body stays in the plumbing, so the repair does not mean cutting pipe.

My valve leaks around the handle. Is this the fix?
