Product details

The Pentair 270200Z is the inlet diverter for the FullFloXF backwash valve. It is the genuine Pentair replacement for the internal diverter on the inlet side of the valve.

What the diverter does

Inside a push pull backwash valve, the diverter is the part that decides where water goes. Move the handle and the diverter changes the path, sending flow through the filter in one position and out to waste in the other. Everything the valve does depends on that seal being tight.

The symptom

When a diverter wears, water starts to slip past instead of being redirected. The valve backwashes weakly, or some flow goes to waste while the system is meant to be filtering. Replacing the diverter restores the separation between the two paths.

While the valve is open

This listing is the inlet diverter only. The outlet diverter, the end cap and the valve O-rings are separate Pentair items, and it is worth looking at all of them once the valve is apart.

Inlet. Pentair lists the outlet diverter for the FullFloXF as a separate part, so check which side of the valve is worn before ordering.
What does the diverter do?
It is the internal piece that directs water inside the FullFloXF valve, sending flow to the filter or out to waste depending on the handle position.
Do I have to replumb the valve to fit it?
No. The FullFloXF valve opens for service, so the diverter is reached without cutting pipe.
How do I know the diverter has failed?
