Product details

The Pentair 073484 is a 2 in. diverter with seal, molded in Noryl. It is the genuine Pentair part.

What the diverter does

The diverter is the moving piece inside a diverter valve. Turning the handle rotates it, and its position is what sends water down one leg of the plumbing or another. The seal around it is what makes the closed port actually closed.

When to change it

A valve that no longer isolates is almost always a worn diverter seal rather than a failed valve body. If water keeps reaching a line you have shut off, or the handle moves through its range without much change, replacing the diverter and its seal restores the valve without replumbing anything. Confirm the size before ordering, as this is the 2 in. part.
