The Hayward PSXVDE is the replacement valve key assembly for Hayward PSV series valves. It is a new genuine Hayward part.
What the key does
Inside a diverter valve, the body is fixed and the key is the piece that moves. The handle turns the key, and the key seals against the seat to open one port and close another. Everything the valve is asked to do depends on that seal.
When to replace it
Two symptoms point at the key. One is flow going where it should not, water still reaching a closed port because the key no longer seals. The other is a handle that has gone stiff or notchy. Both are cheaper to fix with a key assembly than by replacing the whole valve.
