Product details

The Hayward PSXVBCA is the upper kit for Hayward PSV series plumbing valves, sold as a rebuild and overhaul kit. It is a new OEM Hayward part.

Rebuild rather than replace

A diverter valve is glued into the plumbing, so replacing one means cutting pipe, fitting couplings and waiting on cure time before the system can run again. The upper kit avoids all of that. It covers the top section of the valve, which is where PSV valves actually wear out, and the body stays exactly where it is.

What goes wrong

PSV valves normally fail in one of two ways: water starts weeping around the cover or the handle shaft, or the diverter stops sealing cleanly so water bypasses to the port that is supposed to be shut. Both are upper section problems, and both are what this kit is for.

Is this a full valve or a rebuild kit?
A rebuild kit. It covers the upper section of the valve so you can overhaul a valve that is already in the plumbing.
My PSV valve is leaking around the handle. Will this fix it?
That is the failure this kit addresses. The upper kit carries the parts around the cover and diverter, which is where PSV valves normally start weeping.
