The Pentair 192115 is the o-ring for the drain plug, a 1/16 in. by 1/2 in. rubber seal that appears across a large slice of the Pentair and Sta-Rite equipment range.
The problem it solves
A drain plug that still weeps after it has been tightened. The seal is not the plug, it is this o-ring, and once it is flattened, nicked or gone hard it will not hold whatever you do to the plug. Cranking harder to chase the drip is how plug bosses end up cracked, which turns a very cheap part into an expensive one.

Worth keeping spares
Drain plug o-rings get lost at winterizing, left on the pad, or dropped into gravel. They cost almost nothing and having one on the shelf saves a trip in the middle of an opening. A thin film of pool grade o-ring lubricant on install helps it seat and makes the plug easy to pull next time.
