Product details

The Hayward SX200Z14 is a 1 inch outside diameter o-ring for the S200, S240 and S160T sand filters built after 1980. It is the genuine Hayward part.

Check the date, not just the model

Hayward changed parts on these tanks in 1980, and the model badge alone will not tell you which side of that line your filter sits on. Look for a date on the tank or the label before ordering, and compare the old o-ring against the new one when it arrives.

Fitting it

Clean the groove and the mating face before the new o-ring goes in, so nothing is trapped under it. Use a silicone based o-ring lubricant and nothing petroleum based; petroleum grease swells rubber and a new o-ring fitted with it will be soft and leaking again within a season. A light film is enough, since too much lubricant picks up grit.
