Product details
The Hayward SX200G is the manual air relief cap, also listed as the air relief knob, for Hayward side mount sand filters. It is the knob you open to bleed trapped air out of the filter tank.
Why you bleed the filter
Air collects at the top of the tank whenever the pump has been opened, primed or run dry. Trapped air cuts flow and can make the tank knock. Opening the relief cap with the pump running lets the air out until water comes through, and then it is closed again.
Order the o-ring with it
The sealing o-ring is not included and has to be bought separately. If the cap has been weeping, the o-ring is almost always flat or cracked too, so it is worth having both in hand before you start.
