Product details

The Hayward SX200Z7 is the replacement tank O-ring for S200 sand filters. It is the genuine Hayward part.

What it seals

The O-ring sits in the joint between the filter tank and the head, the seam closed by the clamp band. That joint carries full system pressure whenever the pump runs, so the seal has real work to do. A steady drip or spray from around the clamp band is almost always this O-ring rather than a failure of the tank.

When to change it

Any time the filter comes apart. An O-ring that has spent a season compressed in its groove takes a set and often refuses to reseal properly once disturbed, and finding that out means draining and opening the tank a second time. A light coat of silicone based O-ring lubricant, sold separately, helps it seat evenly and makes the next service easier.
