Product details

The Hayward SX310N is the heavy duty ring flange clamp that joins the dome to the tank on Hayward sand filters. It is the genuine Hayward part.

Fitment and size

It is listed for the S310S, S311SX, S311SXV and S360SX filters. The clamp measures 8 inches outside diameter with the ends touching, 3/4 inch from top to bottom, and 5/16 inch thick from inside to outside. If you are matching an unlabeled clamp, measure it with the ends brought together before ordering.

Treat it as a safety part

Whenever the pump is running, this clamp is holding a pressurised vessel closed. Rust scale, cracks around the bolt lug, or a band that has been sprung out of round all reduce how much it can hold. None of that is worth repairing. While the dome is off, check the o-ring under it too, because the clamp can only do its job if the gasket it presses on is still sound.

What does the clamp do?
It is the ring flange clamp that pulls the filter dome down onto the tank and holds that joint under pressure.
Can I keep using a rusted clamp?
No. This joint is under pressure whenever the pump runs. A corroded, cracked or distorted clamp is replaced, not repaired.
