Product details

The Hayward SX160Z3 is the 31 inch clear hose that runs between the sand filter and the pump. It is the genuine Hayward part, the same hose supplied with the filter new.

Which systems use it

Hayward lists this hose for the S160T and S190T sand filters, and for the Sand Master SM1700T, SM1900T and SM2300T and Swim Pro SW196T, SW236T and SW256T top mount tanks. It is the short connection at the equipment pad, so do not confuse it with a vacuum hose or a cleaner hose.

When to replace it

Pool hoses stiffen with age, ultraviolet light and chemistry. A hose that has gone cloudy, hardened or split at a clamp is the usual source of a drip under the filter, and a hose drawing air will show as bubbles in the pump lid. Because this one is clear you can see the problem coming before it strands the system.
