This is the genuine Hayward SX240DNPAK10, a 10 pack of ball style pivot laterals with hub for Pro Series and SwimPro sand filters.

What laterals do

At the bottom of a sand filter, a set of slotted arms fans out from the standpipe. Those are the laterals. The slots are cut fine enough to let filtered water through while holding the sand bed above them, and they are the only thing keeping several hundred pounds of media out of your plumbing. When one cracks or a slot opens up, sand pours through the break and lands in the pool through the returns.

Which filters they suit

Hayward lists this part for the Pro Series S230T, S270T2, S244, S210TC, S220TC, S244T2 and S270T sand filters, and for the SwimPro SW256T.

Why a pack of ten

Replacing laterals means getting the sand out of the tank, which is the slow and awkward part of the job. All the laterals in a filter have been in service for the same length of time, so if one has failed the others are not far behind. A full set means the underdrain goes back together new and the job does not have to be repeated in a season or two. While the tank is open, check the standpipe as well, since a cracked pipe puts sand in the pool exactly the same way.

How many laterals come in this pack?
Ten. That is the standard count for rebuilding the underdrain assembly on these filters.
Which filters does it fit?
Hayward lists it for the Pro Series S230T, S270T2, S244, S210TC, S220TC, S244T2 and S270T sand filters, and for the SwimPro SW256T.
I am getting sand in the pool. Is this the cause?
It is the most common one. Laterals are slotted to pass water while holding the sand bed back, and a cracked or split lateral gives the sand a clear path to the returns. The standpipe is the other thing to check while the filter is open.
Do I have to change all ten?
You do not have to, but it is the better call. The laterals in a filter have all aged the same amount, and getting the sand out is the hard part of the job. Doing one and leaving nine that are the same age usually means repeating the whole exercise.
