The Hayward SX160Z5 is the 22 inch hose used on Hayward Pro Series filters. It is the genuine Hayward replacement part.

Why length matters

This hose is supplied at the 22 inches Hayward specifies, so it routes the same way the original did. A generic length either kinks where it is too long or pulls at its fittings where it is too short, and both shorten the life of the connection.

When to replace it

Hose on filter equipment lives outdoors in sun, chlorine and pressure cycles. It goes hard, then it crazes, then it weeps at the fittings.
