Product details

The Hayward SX200J is the replacement support stand for Pro Series sand filters. It is the skirt the tank sits down into, and it carries the whole loaded weight of the filter.

Broad fitment

Hayward used this base across a wide run of tanks, covering top mount and side mount Pro Series filters as well as several SandMaster and older S series models. Check your model number against the fits list on this page before ordering, since the coverage is specific.

Why the base goes first

The tank is thick and stays outdoors well. The base sits at ground level, takes standing water, sun and, in cold climates, freeze cycles, and it is the piece holding several hundred pounds of sand and water. Cracks at the rim or a collapsed side leave the filter leaning, which puts a steady strain on the plumbing connections above it.

Fitting it

The tank has to come clear of the old base, so the job means draining down and lifting the filter off before the new skirt goes under it.

Will it fit my filter?

Is this the whole filter?
No. This is the support stand only, the skirt the tank sits in.
Why do these break?
Years of sun and, in cold climates, freeze cycles make the plastic brittle, and the loaded tank does the rest.
Do I have to empty the filter to change it?
The tank has to come off the base to swap it, so plan on draining down and lifting the tank clear.
