Product details

The Hayward SX360E is the bulkhead spacer for Pro Series and Pro Series Plus side mount sand filters. Hayward also catalogs it as the o-ring spacer, so both names refer to the same part.

Where it goes

The spacer sits at the tank bulkhead, holding the seal in its correct position where the plumbing passes through the filter shell. It is a small piece, but when it is missing, cracked or crushed the seal no longer sits square and the bulkhead starts to weep.

Fitment

Hayward lists SX360E for the Pro Series side mount filters S210S, S220S, S244S, S310S and S360S, and for the Pro Series Plus filters S311SX, S311SXV and S360SX. It is described as the part for units after 1995, so check the age of your filter. One source spells the middle Pro Series Plus model 311XV instead of S311SXV; match your tank label rather than assuming.

Is the bulkhead spacer the same thing as the o-ring spacer?
Yes. Hayward uses both names for part SX360E.
Which filters does it fit?
The Pro Series side mount sand filters S210S, S220S, S244S, S310S and S360S, and the Pro Series Plus filters S311SX, S311SXV and S360SX. One source lists that middle Pro Series Plus model as 311XV rather than S311SXV.
Does the age of my filter matter?
Hayward describes this spacer as the version for filters after 1995, so confirm the vintage of your tank before ordering.
Does the bulkhead o-ring come with it?
No. The o-ring is a separate Hayward part. If you have the bulkhead apart it is worth replacing both at once.
