Product details

The Polaris R0517700 is the genuine filter canister support lid for the 9300, 9300xi and 9400 robotic pool cleaners. A thick rubber gasket is fitted to the underside of the lid.

What the lid does

The support lid closes the top of the filter canister and its gasket makes the seal between the two. That seal is what forces the water the cleaner pulls in to pass through the filter media. If the lid is cracked, warped or missing its gasket, part of the flow bypasses the media and the debris it was carrying goes back into the pool.

Why it wears

The lid is removed and refitted every time the canister is emptied, which on a working cleaner is most days in season. Repeated handling, sunlight on the deck and chlorinated water all take their toll: the plastic gets brittle around the tabs and the gasket takes a set and stops sealing.

The part number change

Polaris now supplies this lid as R0865100. It replaces R0517700 directly, and the only difference to expect is color, which may not match the lid coming off the cleaner.
