The U.S. Seal PS-3868 is the heavy duty mechanical pump seal set, the ozone and salt service version of the common PS-201.
Why the heavy duty version
Water carrying salt cell output, ozone or hydrogen peroxide is harder on a shaft seal than ordinary chlorinated water. This seal answers that with a special composite Viton and carbon graphite pairing, which stands up better to abrasion, heat and chemicals and lasts longer in service.
Where it fits
It is listed for the Hayward Super Pump in SP1600, SP1600X, SP2600 and SP2600X form, and for the Super II in SP3000 and SP3000X form.
While you are in there
A seal replacement means the pump is already apart at the motor. Check the shaft for scoring and the housing gasket for hardening at the same time, because both are cheap next to doing the teardown twice.
