Product details

The U.S. Seal PS-4231 is a generic mechanical shaft seal with a 13/16 inch inside diameter on the ceramic. It is used on a number of pool pumps, including the Jandy Stealth SHPF/SHPM and PlusHP PHPF/PHPM series and Polaris PB4-60 booster pumps built after serial number PB120111001.

Two sizes, one decision

The Stealth impeller changed. Revisions N and lower were built with a double stepped shaft at the impeller, and those pumps need a seal with a 13/16 inch inside diameter on the ceramic portion, which is this one. Revisions P and higher have no step where the impeller goes onto the motor shaft, and they take a 5/8 inch ID seal instead, part number R0479400.

Check before you order

The quickest check is the shaft itself. Pull the impeller and look for the step. If it is there, this is the seal. If the shaft is plain, order the 5/8 inch part instead. One seal is supplied.

How do I know whether I need the 13/16 inch or the 5/8 inch seal?
