Product details

This is the Pentair 154661, the rubber O-ring for the air bleed adapter. It is the genuine Pentair part.

What it seals

The air bleed adapter is what lets trapped air out of the filter, and this O-ring is the seal between the adapter and the filter. When it hardens, flattens or picks up a nick, the filter starts weeping right at the air relief. It is a small part in a place people notice quickly, and it is far more often the cause of a drip there than the adapter itself.

Is this the big tank O-ring?
No. This is the small O-ring for the air bleed adapter. The tank body seal is a separate part.
What lubricant should I use?
A silicone based O-ring lubricant. Petroleum grease swells rubber and will ruin the seal.
My filter weeps at the air relief. Is this it?
Usually. A hardened or nicked O-ring at the air bleed adapter is the common cause of a drip there, and it is a cheap part to renew.
