Product details
The Pentair 630044Z is the gray seal ring for the QuickNiche concrete and vinyl light niche. It is the genuine Pentair replacement gasket, the same ring supplied with the original niche.
What it seals
QuickNiche niches are built to carry Pentair pool and spa light fixtures, and the seal ring is what keeps the water on the pool side of that assembly. When the ring hardens, cracks or takes a permanent set, water finds its way past the joint and works toward the back of the niche and the conduit, which is where a small leak turns into an expensive one.
When to replace it
Fit a new ring any time the light fixture comes out of the niche for a lamp, a lens or a cord repair. It is a small part next to everything it protects, and reusing a gasket that has already been compressed for several seasons is a common cause of a niche that seeps afterward.
