Pentair 77707-0244 is the cupro nickel tube sheet coil assembly kit for the MasterTemp HD series, models 400HDNA and 400HD-LP. It is supplied as a complete kit.

Check the build date

Pentair lists this kit for units built prior to 1/12/09. Heaters of the same model name changed over their production run, so the date on the heater plate matters as much as the model number here. Confirm both before ordering.

Why cupro nickel

Cupro nickel is a copper nickel alloy used where plain copper would not last. On commercial duty heaters and on pools with aggressive water chemistry, the alloy resists the corrosion that eats through standard tubing, which is why Pentair offers this version of the coil.

What it replaces

The tube sheet and coil are the heat transfer assembly at the center of the heater. When the coil leaks or corrodes, the heater loses efficiency and can start putting water into the cabinet. This kit brings the assembly back to factory condition rather than patching around it.
