Product details

The Hydroquip 12-0100-K is a 5.5kW flow through heater element supplied with its hardware, designed to fit RHS heaters. It is a new OEM part.

How a flow through element works

The element sits directly in the water path inside the heater tube, so water heats as it is pumped past. That design is efficient and compact, but it means the element is exposed to whatever the water carries. Scale, low flow and aggressive chemistry all shorten its life.

Signs the element has gone

A heater that trips its breaker, will not raise temperature, or shows a ground fault on the heat circuit is usually pointing at the element. Before fitting a new one, look for the reason the old one failed: heavy scale on the removed element or a restricted flow path will take the replacement out the same way.
