Product details

The Hydro-Quip Immersion Series BIS-60-240-GF is a baptistry heater rated at 6.0 kW on a 240 volt supply, with a 30 amp GFCI. It is the built in heater for a permanent baptistry rather than a portable package.

The electrical side

This is a 240 volt appliance on a 3-wire supply with a 30 amp GFCI, so it needs a dedicated circuit run by an electrician. That is worth settling before the unit arrives, because the circuit, not the heater, is usually what holds up an install.

Sizing and space

6.0 kW is the higher output in the range, which matters when a tank has to come up to temperature between a Saturday setup and a Sunday service rather than over several days. The cabinet is listed at 46 inches high by 18 inches wide, so confirm the wall or closet space where it will live.
