Product details

The Hydro-Quip 12-0100F-K is a titanium heater element rated 5.5 kW at 240 volts, supplied for M7 heater assemblies.

Why the element is the part that goes

The element is the one component in the heater that is submerged, energized and cycled every time the system calls for heat. Scale, low flow and out of range water chemistry all shorten its life. When a heater still runs its pump and its controls but never brings the water up, or trips protection as soon as it fires, the element is the first thing to test.

Before you order and before you fit

Check 12-0100F-K against the number on the element you are removing, and confirm the 5.5 kW and 240 volt ratings match the heater. Cut power at the breaker before the heater is opened; this is a 240 volt circuit.

Questions and answers

What people ask about this product, answered by our pool techs.

What is this element rated at?
5.5 kW at 240 volts.
Why titanium?
Titanium holds up in treated pool and spa water, which is why it is the usual choice for a wet element.
Will it fit my heater?
The facts we hold list it as the element for the Hydro-Quip M7. Compare 12-0100F-K against the number on your existing element before ordering.
How do I know the element has failed?
A heater that runs but never reaches temperature, or that trips the breaker or the GFCI as soon as it calls for heat, points at the element. An electrician can confirm it with a resistance and ground test.
