Product details
Jandy 7512 is a 90 degree check valve with a 2 inch slip socket on one end and a 2-1/2 inch spigot on the other. It belongs to the Jandy spring check valve family, so the valve closes on its own when flow stops.
Two parts in one body
Most equipment pads are tight, and every extra fitting is another joint and another few inches of pipe. This valve turns the run through 90 degrees and provides backflow protection at the same time, which takes an elbow out of the run entirely.
Getting the ends right
Slip and spigot are not the same thing. The 2 inch slip end is a socket that pipe slides into. The 2-1/2 inch spigot end is sized like pipe and slides into a fitting or a bell. Dry fit the whole assembly before cementing, and check the flow direction marked on the body, because a check valve installed backwards will block the line.
