Product details

The Hayward AXV303 is the cone spindle gear for the vinyl model suction cleaners in the Pool Vac and Navigator family. It is the genuine Hayward part, molded in plastic.

Vinyl models only

Hayward builds these cleaners in versions matched to the pool surface, and the gear sets are not interchangeable between them. AXV303 is the vinyl part. If your cleaner is a concrete, gunite or desert model, you need the gear for that version instead, so identify the cleaner before ordering.

Where it sits

Water through the turbine drives a train of gears that turns the wheels and works the steering. Every gear in that chain carries the same load, and one with chipped or rounded teeth will slip under load. The result is a cleaner that sounds like it is running normally but crawls, stalls in corners or wanders without following its pattern. This gear appears in the diagrams for the Pool Vac, Pool Vac Ultra, Pool Vac XL, Navigator, Navigator Pro, AquaBug, Diver Dave, Wanda the Whale and Arneson Aquadroid cleaners.

Will this fit a concrete or gunite model cleaner?
No. AXV303 is the vinyl version. The concrete and desert models use a different gear, so check which version of the cleaner you own before ordering.
