Hayward AXV066A is the spindle gear bushing used across a broad run of Hayward suction side pool cleaners. It is a molded plastic part and it is the bearing the spindle gear turns in.

Why a small bushing matters

A suction cleaner is driven entirely by water passing through a turbine and a train of gears. Every gear in that train has to stay on its axis for the teeth to mesh where they were designed to. When a bushing wears oval, the gear it carries starts to wander, the mesh goes off, and the gears either side begin taking damage. A cleaner that has grown noisy or lost its pattern is often one worn bushing away from needing a whole gearbox.

What does the spindle gear bushing do?
It is the bearing surface the spindle gear runs on inside the cleaner drive. It holds the gear on its axis so the gear train meshes correctly.
