Pentair 460740 is the liquid propane gas orifice replacement kit for the MasterTemp 250 pool and spa heater, the 250K model.

What the orifices do

The orifices are the calibrated openings that meter gas into the burner. Their size determines how much fuel the heater draws and therefore how it fires. Propane and natural gas run at different pressures and energy densities, which is why each fuel needs its own orifice set. Running a heater on the wrong orifices means it either starves or over fires, and neither is safe or efficient.
