Pentair Dynamo Strainer Pot Assembly, 354103

The Pentair 354103 is the strainer pot housing assembly for Dynamo above ground pool pumps. It is listed with the Dynamo lid, the lid o-ring and the strainer basket.

What the strainer pot does

Everything the skimmer misses arrives here. The pot holds the basket that catches leaves and hair before they reach the impeller, and it is also the part of the pump that has to hold a vacuum. Both jobs matter: a blocked basket starves the pump, and a leaking pot stops it priming at all.

When to replace the whole housing

Cracks are the common failure, usually along the pot wall or around the lid seat, and they are often invisible until the pump refuses to prime. Suction side plastic under vacuum does not take repairs well, so a cracked pot is a replacement rather than a patch. A warped or chewed lid seat is the same story, since no o-ring will seal against a damaged sealing face.

Fitting it

Because the assembly comes with the lid, o-ring and basket, the whole front of the pump goes back to a known good condition in one job instead of chasing a leak through three separate parts.
