The Hayward SharkVac, part number W3RC9740CUB, is a robotic cleaner for in-ground pools. It needs no hoses, no hookups and no additional pump to run.

How it differs from a suction or pressure cleaner

Suction and pressure cleaners borrow their power from the pool circulation system, which means a hose to a wall fitting or a skimmer, and often a booster pump. The SharkVac does none of that. It works on its own, so installation amounts to putting it in the water.

What that means for the filter

Because the cleaner is not pushing debris into the pool filter, the filter is not loading up with everything the cleaner picks off the floor and walls. That translates into fewer backwash cycles across a season, and less water sent to waste each time.
