Quick overview
- Two connection styles in one part 1.5 in. female pipe thread on the pool side, 1.5 in. socket on the plumbing side.
- Threaded pool face The FPT face takes a threaded eyeball or directional fitting without an adapter.
- Solvent weld behind the wall The socket side glues to 1.5 in. pipe, so there is no thread to leak in the wall cavity.
- Built for vinyl walls The fitting is the vinyl pool wall version, made to clamp the liner against the wall.
- Genuine Waterway Waterway part 400-9060B.
- Common failure point Wall fittings crack with age and freeze, and a weep behind the liner is worth catching early.

Product details
The Waterway 400-9060B is a vinyl wall fitting with a 1.5 in. female pipe thread on the pool side and a 1.5 in. socket on the plumbing side. It is the piece that carries water through a vinyl pool wall.
The two connections
Inside the pool, the threaded face takes a directional eyeball or whatever threaded fitting the return calls for, with no adapter in between. Behind the wall, the socket accepts 1.5 in. pipe with solvent cement, so the buried joint is a glued one rather than a thread that can back off or weep.
When to replace one
Wall fittings crack. Sun, chemistry and a hard freeze all work on the plastic, and by the time water shows up behind the liner the fitting has usually been leaking for a while. If the fitting body is split or the threads have chewed out, replacing it is the fix.
