Product details

This is the Waterway o-ring for the air relief valve on Clearwater II cartridge filters, Clearwater II DE filters and Proclean cartridge filters. It is the small seal between the relief plug and the filter head.

Why it fails

The relief valve is opened and closed every time the filter is bled, so its o-ring works harder than most seals on the tank. Chlorinated water and sun turn it hard, then it takes a set and stops sealing. The symptom is a valve that drips or weeps after bleeding, and it is often mistaken for a cracked plug.

Part numbers

The o-ring is stocked as 805-0207 and is also referenced as 602-0201 in Waterway parts listings. Both refer to this seal. Lubricate it lightly with a silicone based lubricant on installation, and never use a petroleum grease.
