This is the Waterway 519-7431 pressure gauge adapter, the fitting that carries the pressure gauge on Clearwater II cartridge and DE filters.
Why it matters
Filter pressure is the number that tells you when the cartridge needs cleaning or the DE grids need service. That reading only means something if the gauge is mounted square and the joint is dry. A cracked or cross threaded adapter weeps, drops the reading and leads to a filter that is left dirty far too long.
Fitting it
