How many you need
Every one of these heaters carries a tray of identical burners, and the count changes with the model. The 206A uses 13, the 266A uses 18, the 336A uses 22 and the 406A uses 27. Check your model before you order so the quantity matches the tray.
When to change them
Burners take the worst of the heat and the moisture inside a heater. Rust, a cracked port face or a plugged burner shows up as an uneven flame, sooting or a heater that struggles to hold temperature. A single failed burner can be swapped on its own, but a tray that has corroded as a set is better replaced together so the flame is even across the whole exchanger.
