Product details

The Hayward SPX0580B is the clamp assembly for Astrolite SP0580 and SP0590 series pool lights, and it ships with the screw, nut and washer that go with it. It is the genuine Hayward part.

What the clamp does

The clamp is the piece that pulls the face rim tight against the lens gasket. That clamping force is what keeps water out of the fixture, so a clamp that has corroded, stretched or lost its hardware is not a cosmetic problem. It is the reason a light floods.

When to replace it

Clamp hardware lives in pool water for its whole life and rust or a seized screw is common by the time a light is opened for a lamp or gasket change. Because the fixture is already out of the niche at that point, fitting a fresh clamp assembly is the sensible move rather than fighting the old one back together.
